2008 Volkswagen Tiguan

The 2008 Volkswagen Tiguan was the answer to the Toyota RAV4 that was taking the consumer market by storm. The Tiguan is a small crossover SUV that gave people the satisfaction of driving an SUV without having to sacrifice the gas mileage that they wanted in a vehicle. Needless to say the arrival of the Tiguan was something that was anticipated by all consumers, given the reputation of Volkswagen as being one of safety and great German engineering. People were ready for something that could rival the other automakers that were dominating the small SUV sector.

The 2008 Tiguan was available in three styles. They were termed the "Trend and Fun", "Sport and Style" and the "Track and Field". Each style offered something unique to the driver. For example, the Trend and Fun model, as well as the Sport and Style models were designed for on road usage, such as driving trips and on major highways, while offering a sense of comfort and stylish looks that consumers want. The Track and Field model though was designed to be used off road and was more for sports enthusiasts who knew that they needed a reliable vehicle that could handle rough terrain. The Track and Field had an array of extra concepts that were used in order to make the driving in off road conditions easier for the driver, which for those that wanted this sort of adventure, the Track and Field was the vehicle to have.

The engine offered in all the models of the Tiguan is charged. Which means that you get maximum performance without having to worry about fuel loss, which is one of the reasons for the popularity of the vehicle. Engine wise, the engines were offered with turbochargers and with turbochargers with superchargers. There was a total of four engines offered with the Tiguan that would please any consumer.

Transmission wise the Tiguan was offered with either manual or automatic transmissions. These transmission options were coupled with all wheel drive four wheel motion that was unique to the makers of Volkswagen. Each of the transmissions that were offered were able to perform on road as well as off road without hurting the vehicle.

The interior of the Tiguan is something that was notable about the vehicle as well. It allowed for seats to be angled, folded down and whatnot enabling people to have whatever they needed, whether it be more leg room or storage room. In fact, the front passenger seat on many models of the Tiguan were able to be placed down in order to haul those long objects that many consumer would need. The luxury that Volkswagen uses on all of its vehicles interiors, were used on the Tiguan as well.

Overall, the Tiguan was highly anticipated and it did not disappoint the professional and consumer world.
