2008 Porsche Boxster

The 2008 Porsche Boxster was considered one of the best performance cars that a person could purchase in 2008. However, the main problem that most professionals found with the vehicle was the price, meaning that not everyone who wanted the best could afford the 2008 Porsche Boxster. However, this has always been an issue with Porsche. But, those that wanted the best would purchase a 2008 Porsche Boxster.

The main thing about the 2008 Porsche Boxster is that it is considered a limited edition, which means that it is highly collectible among those that collect Porsche vehicles. There were two versions of the Boxster produced in 2008. These included the classic Boxster or the more expensive version that includes a whole lot of extras, called the Boxster S. Basically they are the same vehicle, however, the S version included a different grille, as well as dual exhaust. The price for these were relatively expensive, and with over one hundred options that the driver could choose to add to the Boxster could quickly rack up the sales price of the Boxster. There were extras such as nineteen inch wheels, leather heated seats, automatic climate control, navigation system, park assist and an aluminum hardtop.

Engine wise, the base model included a six cylinder 2.7 liter engine that was capable of producing 245 horsepower, with a standard five speed manual transmission. The S version had a six cylinder 3.4 liter engine that could produce 295 horsepower, with an optional six speed manual transmission. Performance wise, the S version performed the quarter mile in 13.4 seconds, while going from zero to sixty in five seconds. With the powerful engines, most people do not expect the fuel mileage of the vehicle to be that great. However, it was impressive given the performance with the base model getting around twenty miles per gallon in the city, and twenty nine miles per gallon on the highway. The S version did get slightly lower gas mileage in the city of eighteen miles a gallon and on the highway it had gotten twenty-six miles a gallon.

Handling wise the Boxster could take anything that came its way without losing control. Tight curves were no match for the car, which aided in its performance and a reason why many people yearned to own a Porsche Boxster in 2008. Most of those who test drove the Boxster during its first appearance in 2008 said that the steering was one of the huge reasons to purchase the car, stating that the driver will feel as if the car is reading their thoughts when it comes to driving. The ride noise was pretty standard which meant that you may notice some sounds of the road, but not enough to interfere with driving.

Overall, for a car that performs at the top of the line, the 2008 Porsche Boxster was the sports car of the year. However, because of the price, the car was only driven by an elite few, and those who did drive the Boxster was completely in love with the car.
